For the second time in two months, a pro-life bridge in the Chicagoland area was attacked by a pro-choice vandal!  The first incident occurred in May 2020.  The second incident happened during the Pro-life Action League’s third annual National Pro-life Bridges Day on June 26, 2020.

Chris Iverson, Vice President of Chicago Pro-Life Future, along with his friends were displaying the pro-life message “Abortion takes a human life” to commuters on I-294 and I-55 in Countryside, IL.  Around 4:00 pm, a young woman drove up in a silver Honda CR-V.  She stopped on the shoulder where Chris was located.  He recounts what happened next:

“I saw her stop the vehicle on the shoulder near me and I could tell we had trouble.  It was the way she looked at me.  She made an aggressive u-turn and parked on the shoulder on the other side of the road.  It seemed obvious to me that she was targeting the sign.  I made my way over there and the video tells the rest of the story.”

Thankfully, no one was hurt and nothing was stolen.  A few bungee cords were cut and the sign was unreadable for about seven minutes until Chris was able to get it back up.  The police came soon after the vandal left and they are investigating the matter.

This incident occurred during the National Pro-life Bridges Day which is an annual event that reaches over one million people each year with the message “Abortion takes a human life.” Despite this incident, they reached over 80,000 people that day with this powerful message!
